Lakers news on Dwyane Wade's plan to workout with LeBron James throughout the 2019-20 season

Lakers news: After retiring from the NBA last season, Dwyane Wade and his family officially moved to Los Angeles, where they will be staying in their newly purchased home in Sherman Oaks. And although the three-time champion has repeatedly stated that he will not come out of retirement, he said he’s planning to work out with his good friend, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James throughout the course of the 2019-20 season, he said per Arash Markazi of the LA Times.

“You’re definitely going to see me out there. I’ll be there early to work out with LeBron before the game starts. I just want to stay around it and be as involved as I can.”

LeBron and D-Wade have been friends ever since they came into the league in 2003. They were also teammates with the Miami Heat from 2010-2014 where they have won two championships. They’ve been so close that they even decided to let their sons Bronny and Zaire play basketball together at Sierra Canyon Highschool.

Wade plans to stay in shape, and working out with James is one of his ways to do it? Does this mean that they could potentially play together one more time? The future Hall of Famer once again said no.

“I’m done, but my trainer is going to keep me in shape just in case something happens. I’m going to stay in shape because you never know. Never say never.”

Wade also shut down the idea of him signing with an NBA team in an official capacity. He said he’s built a good relationship with players and that he’s able to pass his knowledge to the younger generation by working out with some of them during the summer. So he doesn’t feel the need to have an official role with any franchise.

“I love the game of basketball, and any time I can get in the gym with one of these younger players, I’m going to do it no matter what.”

At this point, no one knows what’s next for Wade. He admitted that he’s still getting used to the life of a retired man, so don’t expect him to make any decisions just yet. But no matter what he does in the future, he’ll always love the game of basketball and he will always find time to help others get better.
